NOLAN + EMILY // Edina, MN

Nolan and Emily's wedding really brought me back. 2 years and 4 months ago my wife Faith and I got married in the same church, CPC in Edina. It was so powerful to see another wedding there, remembering exactly what it was like to be in the same seats as Nolan and Emily. I love all of our weddings because each one really does remind me of how lucky I am to experience marriage and share my life with Faith, but this one was especially close to home.

I met Nolan and Emily through their amazing wedding planners, Mimi Design. Their wedding had such a timeless element to it, which I absolutely loved. From the classic colors to the reception at the Lafayette Club, their day was truly incredible and we were blessed to see it unfold.

LAS VEGAS: WPPI

WPPI is one of the biggest photography conferences in the world. I went down with my friend Spencer Combs and ran into some rad people from Photogen Inc. We went out to see the Red Rocks at Red Rocks National Park and had a blast shooting a little piece to share.

Right now I am at WPPI, one of the nations biggest photography conference in Las Vegas for a few days. Being this is my first time here, there is a lot to take in! I have a bunch of photos and video to share from my experience, so check back soon.

JACK + JENNY // St. Paul, MN

I met Jack and Jenny through their wonderful wedding planner, Joan Nilsen of Ambiente. Their wedding reminded me that winter weddings are some of the most romantic. Their ceremony at St. Kates in St. Paul was breathtaking and their reception at McNamara on the U of M campus was stunning. More than anything it was amazing to see all of the people that meant the most to Jack and Jenny all there to support and encourage them in their new life together.

The Sheer Addiction Project // Hudson, WI

This past year I met Tamara from Sheer Addiction, an amazing jewelry artist from Hudson, WI. Tamara is hands-down incredible. We decided to put a piece together for her that would highlight her as both an artist and a stylist. One thing I really learned from Tamara is that very, very few people know how to style and layer jewelry. I think this, along with her work, makes her super unique and someone you should get to know. Her website is www.sheeraddiction.com and please check it out. Images are by Jamie Schultz and our wardrobe was provided by a local boutique in Hudson, La Rue Marche.

DEREK + CHARLENE // Phoenix, AZ

Derek and Charlene sure know how to throw a New Years party. It was awesome to celebrate the new year at their wedding in Phoenix. What I didn't expect, and what I ended up absolutely loving, was their wedding venue. Several times throughout their day I had to remind myself that I wasn't in an Italian Villa. Absolutely gorgeous.

Some other highlights for me included the most incredible guest favors I have yet to see (hand drawn individual caricatures of each person there), dueling pianos at the reception, and an amazing sparkler send-off. 

It was also a blast, as it always is, to shoot with my good friend Spencer Combs. A few of his amazing images from the day are below my clip, so check him out!!!

SEDONA // AZ : New Years

Hi Friends!

This past New Years I had the opportunity to shoot a wedding with alongside my good friend Spencer Combs in Phoenix, AZ. I am still working on the edit, but the wedding was AMAZING and will be coming to the blog soon. 

After the wedding, Spencer, his wife Alex, my wife Faith and I went up to Sedona to spend a day on the red rock. We went mountain biking, ate some great food and did a Pink Jeep Tour, which was incredible. Spencer and I brought our cameras with on the jeep, so here's a little clip I put together to share.

This year I hope to share some of my "non-wedding" experiences with our blog readers, so I hope that's ok!!

JOHN + JENNEN // Minneapolis, MN

I don't think we could have asked for a more perfect wedding to end our 2009 season. John and Jennen's story is timeless: A marine meets a beautiful woman, invites her to attend a ball, they dance and they fall in love. John and Jennen's day was the quintessential romantic Minnesota winter wedding, complete with a sword detail recessional and a handful of Marines who really knew how to move their shiny shoes on the dance floor.
