One of my destination couples are big scuba divers - in fact they were engaged while scuba diving in Jelly Fish Lake in Micronesia. I was hired to coordinate their destination wedding somewhere with great scuba. After searching high (on mountain tops) and low (deep beneath the sea) they settled on Puerto Rico.
It's the perfect location for this adventurous couple because while they are well-traveled many family members are not. Puerto Rico does not require a passport because they are a United States territory. In addition, from most US cities, San Juan can be reached with minimal transfers - one in most cases.
Back to the point - I recently completed scuba lessons along with two other wedding guests. The class consisted of five people and three of us will be attending this wedding. In addition, our instructor, Josh will also be in attendance. Oh and if that isn't enough, their wedding photographers, Andrew Vick of Vick Photography and Noah Wolf are in the process of becoming scuba certified specifically because of this couple and their love of scuba.
Here's some pictures of one night of class and suiting up. Oh and this picture isn't one of my finest.
